AI for Justice: New Center Launches to Revolutionize Public Safety

On January 10, 2025, the IJIS Institute partnered with Rutgers University's Miller Center and the University of Ottawa to unveil the Center of Excellence for AI in Justice, Public Safety, and Security (JPSS). Aiming to ethically integrate AI into JPSS agencies, the center offers training, policy development, and AI roadmap creation. With a dedicated lab for testing algorithms, it tackles challenges like technology adoption and cultural shifts. This initiative promises smarter, compassionate public safety solutions while keeping ethics in check.
